Letter to Kofi Annan

Mr. Kofi Annan Secretary-General of
the UN, Dear Mr. Annan, A very interesting approach to world peace is put forward in great detail in The “I want World Peace” Campaign document. It proposes a very simple but effective way of creating world peace and eliminating extreme poverty throughout the world while benefiting everyone. The campaign is designed to help the United Nations to unite the nations. It demonstrate clearly that to unite the nations of the world there must be justice; there is no other way. We, the nations of the world, cannot be united as long as some nations dominate and pull rank over others. This is unjust, unacceptable, and will never work. There must be justice. The nations of the world are not the same or equal, but they do all have equal status. China is not equal to Luxembourg, their populations are not equal, their size, their language, their talents are not equal. Neither is superior, inferior or equal to the other, but both these nations and their people must be afforded equal status. All people, and all nations great and small, have an inalienable right to be involved in the process of determining international issues such as peace and prosperity, indeed, in anything that effects the international community. The document proposes a system of democratic and economic justice that could bring unity. Democratic justice consists of: Global Democracy - One Country One Vote. All nations would continue to have full autonomy over their own affairs, but would join with the other nations of the world, through a certain number of representatives, depending on the size of its population, and together, they would make decisions based on the common good, and on the democratic will of the majority of nations. Global Democracy is justice, nothing less than it will work. The document demonstrates how a simple modification to our existing economic system would ensure that everybody seeking employment throughout the world would be employed, and would be using the best that technology can offer. With such a system all would have an equal opportunity to enjoy the fruits and benefits that a peaceful world would offer. I am writing to you, and I hope millions of others will write, to ask you to use your influence among the nations to promote Global Democracy which alone has the capacity to usher in World Peace and Prosperity for mankind. The proposal can be found at www.iwantworldpeace.org and I hope that you and I, and the people of the world, will embrace it, promote it, and implement it. Yours sincerely, Letter to & from United Nations
