Letter to a politician
|
Politician's name Date Dear , The world is in an appalling state. Billions off people are suffering from the effects of war, injustice and global warming. Aids and other killer diseases are rampant. The majority of people, according to Kofi Annan, are living on less than $3 a day. They are poor, sick and unemployed. There is massive wealth, poverty, and inequality. We have drug trafficking, terrorism and genocide. For some time now, these problems have taken on an international dimension and cannot be solved by national governments. Local and National Governments have some, but very little effect in relation to these most serious problems. Just as international crime has to be tackled, and is beginning to be tackled by international policing, it is exactly the same with our other international problems, they too need to be tackled the international way. Yes politics, like policing, must become international. I believe that all of the above problems can be solved by an international approach. This is also the view of The “I want World Peace” Campaign, which is encouraging the people and politicians of the world to unite under the umbrella of democratic and economic justice. Operating in this way, the politicians of the world, will be infinitely more capable of serving those who have elected them. Without relinquishing National autonomy, the politicians of the world will come together and form a confederation. Their first decision will and must be to establish World Peace, and an international military force, made up from all of the nations of the world, to ensure that peace is preserved. They will then go on to establish economic justice and endeavour to solve all of the other problems plaguing mankind today. And united we will succeed. This is probably the greatest enterprise that the politicians of the world have ever undertaken, and it is the one with the greatest prize - World Peace and Prosperity. This is what the vast majority of the ordinary people of the war-weary world want, it is also wanted by the vast majority of our presidents, prime ministers and politicians. Truly, it the desire of all reasonable people on the planet. Peace and Prosperity is desired by our generals, our economists, by our newspaper editors and television presenters, by priests and poets, pop stars and film stars. Indeed it is coveted by all fair-minded people. So please, please, promote this campaign for World Peace and Prosperity. You can find out all about it at www.iwantworldpeace.org on the internet. Yours sincerely, Letter to & from United Nations
