According to this year's International Labour Organisation's Annual Report, 75% of the world's 150 million jobless have no employment benefits.

About 10% of our population are living in appalling, degrading conditions. Of these 600,000,000 people, each year about 1% fail even to survive, that is 6 million people die each year from poverty related diseases. The Concern third world development agency had an advertisement in November 2000 that stated that one person dies every four seconds as a result of poverty. If they are right, and unfortunately they probably are, it means that 21,600 people, mainly children but also women and men, die each day simply because they are poor; they just happened to be born in the "wrong" place. We must not go on ignoring the fact that millions are dying from poverty each year. This holocaust must end. Your involvement in this campaign will help. They need your support.
