World Government

Because we all have the democratic right to determine our own future, all people and all nations, great and small, powerful and weak, have the right to be involved in the process of deciding all international issues. The people of all nations have the right to choose representatives who will represent them at this all-important assemblage. National autonomy remains in tact, but at an international level these representatives will decide what is most beneficial on behalf of the people and nations of the planet. It is essential that this body has the authority to make whatever decisions are necessary, and it must have the power to implement them, even if it is necessary to use of force.

When the representatives of the nations of the world sit down together, thus forming a Confederation of the Governments of the World, they will begin by declaring World Peace. To ensure that that peace is maintained, it will have an army made up from every nation in the world. For the sake of unity and peace, and for the sake of law and order, and as an acknowledgement that each country has developed in its own unique way, the Confederation will accept all governments, be they democratic or undemocratic; then, over a number of years, each national government will submit to democratic ways. Having established peace among the nations, the Confederation’s next job will be to establish justice and dignity for every person and nation on the planet. It will begin the process of defining national boundaries and the precise relationships between governments. All international issues relating to trade, armaments, banking, agriculture, and all aspects of international affairs and standards, will be determined.

Before establishing the Confederation of the Governments of the World, there will have to be an all-embracing package, treaty, pact, or settlement. This international covenant, this broad comprehensive agreement must embody justice, unity and peace, based on the two fundamental principles of Global Justice and Global Democracy. This treaty will be put together by an assemblage of representatives, again, one from each country of the world, and again the people of each nation will choose its own representative. This will form a temporary Confederation and its job will be to decide what will, and will not, be included. For example, it will have to create a system to phase out trade barriers, and phase in a fair economic system that allows all nations to trade together with the least amount of difficulty, and on a level playing field. This all-inclusive treaty will include the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as part of its charter, and justice demands that such a package will include either the above proposal for full employment or some other method of ensuring that each person will have, not just the right, but the opportunity to work, so that everyone on the planet can support himself and his family in dignity. These, and much more besides, will form the basis of any such treaty.

Within the context of a new World Order, the "Will of the Majority" will be of great importance, this means that the treaty will have to be presented to us, the people of the world, to be sanctioned by us. If we, the people of the world, sanction it, then, and only then, will the New World Order and World Peace be established, and life on planet Earth will develop in unimaginable ways.

No doubt some will argue that all this is too idealistic. Ridding ourselves of slavery and the apartheid system was also idealistic. Yes, it is idealistic, but it is also practical and achievable, and besides the alternative is unimaginably dangerous. And yes, it will be met with cynicism and even ridicule but as it is examined and understood it will become manifestly clear to all that Albert Einstein was right when he said “there is no salvation for civilisation, or even the human race, other than the creation of a world government”. It is mind boggling, it is extremely difficult to believe, but it is true, humanity, at long last, is about to wage peace and establish prosperity through a new World Order.

Of course, there will be some people, and groups of people, maybe even governments, who will be opposed to such an undertaking, for they may well believe that "their way" is better and that it should be imposed upon "their people”. Unfortunately, there are still some who believe that their nation, race or religion is superior and that it should be treated as such. Unfortunately, deep down in many peoples’ psyche there is a fear or dread of world government. There is the understandable anxiety that something might go wrong; in books and films it always does, and the planet ends up being governed by an evil force, or by some form of autocracy. This has not happened in the European Union and it will not happen when we become a Global Union, because it will have many inbuilt features ensuring that the New World Order is totally and completely democratic.

There may well be opposition, but humanity must move forward. Let’s not focus too much on who is against it, let each of us decide in a fair-minded way if this will be good for us, for our children, and for future generations. Let us, in the name of all that is good, prove our maturity, accept the reality of our equal status, and choose to live in peace and harmony. However, there is a tendency to think that it is too good to be true, or even that we don’t deserve it. But surely we do, humanity has suffered enough war, poverty and degradation, now the time has come to live in peace. Enough people have starved to death, we have killed enough people in battle, we have used enough bombs and bullets; enough is enough.

Let us in the name of sanity advance forward and establish Peace on Earth, as soon as possible, but let it not be later than the year 2010. We can begin this process now, or we can wait until such time as world conditions become so much more dreadful that we are left simply with no alternative. One thing is sure, the world situation must of necessity deteriorate so long as we remain without some form of global government that is just, democratic and united.

For many years the nations of Europe have been transferring wealth from the wealthier nations to the lesser wealthy, in like manner the New World Order will transfer wealth to those countries in most need. It has been very successful in Europe, and it will be equally successful when carried out on a world-wide scale, and it will speed up the process of narrowing the gap between the rich and poor people and nations. It is difficult for most of us to come to terms with the fact that full employment and World Peace are actually possible, so we need to consciously reorganise our thinking to embrace this reality.

The Representatives of the New World Order will dedicate themselves to their duty, and will, in time, overcome all of our major international problems; they will improve the environment, upgrade working conditions, transform the health situation throughout the planet, and seek to make this world a better place for all to live. The New World Order will ensure that all people are empowered to develop, not just in a material or economic sense, but educationally, emotionally and spiritually, as we search to live life more fully, in peace with ourselves and in harmony with our neighbours.
